When Alix, Gallery Director at Rehfelds Modern, called to tell me that my painting Full Bloom had been acquired for the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine, I was both surprised and deeply honored.

As artists, we create our work without knowing where its journey will lead. Full Bloom was painted in 2023, inspired by the beauty and abundance of the American landscape. I could never have imagined that it would eventually find its way across the world to such a meaningful setting.

Knowing that this painting will be displayed at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv is incredibly humbling. My hope is that Full Bloom offers a quiet reminder of the beauty, peace, and resilience found in the American landscape—a comforting connection to home for those serving our country far from family and familiar places.

For me, this is one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist: watching a painting take on a life of its own and connect with people and places I never could have anticipated.

I’m grateful that Full Bloom now has the opportunity to carry a small measure of beauty, hope, and a sense of home across the world.
