My studio has changed according to where I live. One constant is that I have a portable one for occasions when I am in the outdoors. My outdoor studio is the one I frequent the most since I love painting the landscape. I use my indoor studio for large paintings as well as studio paintings derived from my references.

I have had studios away from my home, but now my studio is a dedicated room in my home. I love the short commute and being able to paint there whenever I want. My space is not large, but everything is on rollers so I can rearrange for different situations. I teach private and semi private lessons there as well.

I have adapted my outdoor studio equipment to deal with travel as well as different conditions. I have three setups: A heavy portable easel for potential windy conditions, a lightweight setup with a rolling carrier for driveable painting trips, and a small easel for air travel. I now divide my time between CO and the GA/SC area so having a portable studio enables me to paint just about anywhere.
