Laurie Pace
The Spirit of the Paint… as splintering fractions into thousands of colors, Laurie’s journey in life has encompassed many careers, from Runway model to graphic artist, from musician to singer, from teacher to painting artist. She believes that the greatest influence in her life is the beauty God provides daily.
The daughter of a creative mother and a business-oriented father, Laurie found her start early in life painting for the Dallas PBS station auctions at the tender age of nine. Her love of God’s creation and her passion for art grew stronger as she went through early childhood. Her parents bought her an easel, canvas and paints and it all began. Dreaming of fashion illustration, she found her first job at age 15 with Neiman Marcus in downtown Dallas working in the art department as an ad model. She spent the next two years between high school and the 7th floor of NM, riding the bus to work each day and living the dream. She continued with her modeling doing runway, commercials and photography shoots through age 34. She has her BFA from Stephen F. Austin State University. Laurie spent 11 years with von Allmen Advertising Agency as Head Artist. She is known by the name Elle in her artwork since 1996. She has been a member of WAOW since 2009. Read more on her website here including her Vitae.
Most days find Laurie at work in the studio four to five days a week, and usually with a grandchild painting on an easel next to her. She maintains her Painting Blog on Google that she has used since 2006 with the Daily Painters. Laurie loves doing commissions for her clients which includes a book of the process of the painting. She and her husband Terry enjoy being together at home or traveling, especially to Openings of her shows at Galleries across the USA. They met years ago at age 11 and 13 and knew God had placed them together. That alone is a story for another day!

“Viewing a Laurie Justus Pace painting is a rich experience dripping with color and emotion. Her passionate works are alive with movement, boldly created with a wide brush and a palette knife. She loves working with oils, dramatically carving out the paint and transferring her energy to the canvas and ultimately on to the viewer. “ Steve Sonnen
