She is in six international publications, including being a featured centerfold artist with thirteen paintings in the 1999 Winter Issue of Watercolor magazine. Horne-Kaplan is a signature member— one of only 130 in the country— of the Miniature Artists of America. She began exploring pastels in 2008 and, within the first year, she was winning awards with her work. She achieved the second level of status of Associate Member with her first submission to The Pastel Society of America just two years later.
Horne-Kaplan was born in Framingham, Massachusetts. She started selling artwork in grade school. She is primarily self–taught. She had the opportunity to attend several inspirational artists’ workshops that helped her refine her craft. She has two private studios, one in her Florida home where she resides during the winter months. The second studio is in her North Carolina home, where she works during late spring, summer and fall.
