Cher Anderson

Cher Anderson is a wildlife artist and photographer known for her highly detailed, realistic paintings of animals, birds and nature.  She works in acrylics, watercolor, and colored pencils.  Her process often starts with photographing animals in the wild, then translating those moments into her detailed paintings.

She initially was self-taught and developed her skills through years of independent study and practice.   She attended the Collins Institute for Graphic Design in 1989, when she relocated to Arizona.  She earned her Associate of Art degree in Graphic Design and Advertising, graduating with honors, within thirteen months; thereafter, working as a commercial graphic designer, creating logos for professional sports teams and other clients.  The world of painting wildlife came later when she took workshops with master wildlife artists.

Anderson’s artworks have won multiple prestigious awards in wildlife and realism art competitions and have been exhibited both in national and international exhibitions.  She participates in exhibitions with Artists for Conservation, and is deeply involved with wildlife conservation.
