Carol Lee Thompson

Carol Lee Thompson is a full-time, professional artist, classically trained in the methods of the Old Masters.  She paints a wide range of subject matter including landscape, equine and animal, portrait, and Western themes.

Thompson graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a Master of Fine Art degree.  Her studio practice honors the methods of the Old Masters. She uses only fine Belgian linen and panels, which she prepares with glue and lead. She hand–grinds all of her pigments with black oil, and makes her own Flemish medium. She teaches these techniques through workshops and classes.

Thompson’s work is featured in galleries throughout the country and has been juried into 29 museum exhibitions. Her work is part of many corporate and private collections.  Her art hangs in Baltimore's City Hall, The Fort McHenry National Shrine, the U.S. State Department, the Star Pass Resort in Arizona, and Camden Yards Stadium.  Additionally, she has been featured in many magazine articles.
