Silver’s Gang by Contemporary Artist Laurie Pace

It was a challenge from my husband. We were talking about the “Lone Ranger” from early days in our childhood. I began researching the horses all part of the Lone Ranger Cast. There was Silver of course and Tanto’s horse, Scout. OR you think there was… but there was more.

But that is not where they started. The first horse the Lone Ranger had was “Dusty” and he was a Chestnut mare. Dusty was replaced by “Silver”. Tonto first rode a horse named White Fellar in the beginning of the show, who was white in color. Then Tonto traded his horse with a friend that was a “Chief” and he received a Paint Pony. I could never find the name of this pony. The final horse Tonto rode was Scout. In the story, the Lone Ranger had let Silver go to run free and Silver returned with Scout. There is a story with every painting coming out of my studio! I love history and research so there is a story woven through the painting.
