Odd subject to write about, for me! First, the majority of my art is captured “en plein air”, which means, ON LOCATION, no studio. These creations can range from 8”x10” up to 6 x12 foot murals> obviously these were captured on my hands and knees, and ALWAYS on location!
And usually painting “solo” there are no photos of me painting!
When I purchased my first home, back in 1991, the only space on a hardwood floor was about a 4x4 foot area, and this became my “studio”...tho I never thought of it that way, until WAOW created this "idea".
The only creations I have done in this space: were subjects I had captured on film > Native Indian Riders, or my “Women in White” series...or sometimes a “plein air creation” > creating it smaller.
I also do miniatures on porcelain. These porcelain units 30 years ago were created for circuit boards for computers! And the ones I was able to find, were 5x7 to as small as your credit card!
Guess the point I’d like to share: PAINT wherever you can find space to set up an easel
and your palette, and some space to backup and check stuff out!
Don’t use the excuse of not having a “studio” in you home, a reason NOT to paint!
For over 35 years ALL of my “studio creations” were created in this 4x4 foot “Studio”!
As the saying goes: "Necessity is the mother of invention"...and my home being too small to have a room dedicated for a studio...I make use of what space I am blessed with.
Any painting you may see of mine, not created “en plein air”,
or from a Living Model, was created in “My STUDIO”!
