Rhonda J. Morfin
Greetings from beautiful Nevada
Rhonda is a charcoal artist whose wild heart is rooted in the sweeping solitude of Nevada’s Great Basin. Born and raised in Elko, she’s shaped by rugged terrain, long drives, and the fierce independence of desert life. Her art draws deeply from the region’s raw beauty and the visceral grace of horses, a connection sparked in childhood when pencils first met hoofbeats.
With a career in engineering behind her, Rhonda now trades construction plans for bold strokes—telling stories in texture and shadow. Her style is instinctual and grounded, capturing not just motion but emotion. Charcoal dust beneath her fingernails, she follows the pulse of wildness with steady hands and a keen eye.
Rhonda’s greatest joy is sharing the creative journey with her son and husband. Their love fuels her work, which is both a celebration of nature and a reflection of relationships that shape and strengthen us.
Each piece is a dialogue—between freedom and form, wildness and grace, artist and soul. And in every mark, her desert roots run deep.
