Pat OBrien
Pat OBrien is an Arizona artist known for her oil paintings of landscapes, western themes, desert imagery, old vehicles and animals. She often experiments with palette knife techniques, undercoat painting, color exploration, and expressive brushwork, and sometimes nearly complete abstraction of her subject.
OBrien earned her Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the University of Cincinnati, D.A.A.P. program, where she majored in painting. She then received her Master of Art degree from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows throughout the United States, receiving many awards. Her paintings have been purchased by private and corporate collections, among them Miller Brewery Company, Ohio Bar Association, Peoria Civic Center and Duke Energy. She teaches painting and pastel techniques through workshops held throughout the United States.
