Linda Harrison–Parsons
Linda Harrison-Parsons is an award–winning artist whose work is inspired by the natural world. She creates her works from what she sees in nature and documents moments in time of those things that may be gone tomorrow. All of her work is based on her strength in drawing while using her background in design and printmaking to create striking images. She works in water-based oils, pencils, or in soft pastel with handmade papers to achieve her desired effects. Her travels around the work influence her bodies of work, with each new adventure opening a new series.
Harrison–Parsons earned a Master of Fine Art degree from George Washington University. She continues to explore new venues each year for exhibiting her personal work in galleries, group and solo shows. Her art has been acquired by businesses and private collections throughout North America, South America, Africa and Europe.
She became involved with Maryland Printmakers, Inc. and worked to establish their incorporation and non-profit status. She served on their Board of Directors in multiple positions during a twelve–year period. She co-chaired and hosted the Southern Graphics Council conference in Baltimore, Maryland, hosting over 800 participants and artists. During this time, she served on their Board as treasurer and worked to assist them with gaining 501-C-3 status. Harrison–Parsons also worked on committees to organize the international printmakers exchange and exhibits with the Cultural Arts in Brazil.
