Laurie’s creative life has been shaped by many disciplines, including runway model, graphic artist, musician, educator, and painter. Her inspiration is God’s creation. By nine years old, her work was included in fundraising auctions for the Dallas PBS station. As a teenager she pursued art, fashion, and modeling at the Dallas Market and working in the art department at Neiman Marcus while still attending high school.
Pace earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and has worked as a professional artist since 1981. Her work is driven by a lifelong fascination with color, using it as structure and energy, allowing movement and emotion to emerge across the canvas. Her art has been in Galleries worldwide.
My practice is intuitive—subjects emerge through gesture and the evolving relationships between colors. I seek the quiet power of horses, the resilience of women, and the vulnerability of childhood, often tempered by the fleeting beauty of flowers.
Each painting aims to balance intention with instinct so that movement and structure meet, revealing spirit and presence on the canvas.
