Kathryn A. McMahon
Kathryn A. McMahon is an American artist known for her impressionistic oil paintings, especially landscapes and marine scenes. Her work reflects traditional impressionist techniques — distinctive use of light, color, and short brushstrokes to capture the feel of nature. She has traveled all over the world, always taking her sketching or painting materials with her to inform and inspire her new output.
McMahon’s artworks have been juried into national and international exhibitions, and her paintings have received awards and honors. She earned “Master” status with Women Artists of the West; and is a signature member of several respected art organizations, including the American Impressionist Society, American Society of Marine Artists, and International Plein Air Painters. She formerly also belonged to the Salmagundi Club of New York and the Copley Society of Art in Boston for many years; and was a past Signature member of the Plein Air Artists Colorado. She is represented in collections in Canada, Europe, China and the United States.
