Jan McKay
Jan McKay feels her paintings of wildlife, pets, and nature, are the perfect subjects to display the beauty of creation, and the love we have been given from above. She was an interior designer for 26 years. This experience developed her natural eye for beauty and design. This skill translates into her paintings.
McKay’s focus shifted from designer to artist after the tragic death of her daughter, Stephanie, in 2008. Stephanie was talented in many areas, and took private art lessons for three years. After her passing, the art teacher suggested that McKay try art. Through this tragedy and learning from her daughter’s teacher, McKay was able to transfer her daughter’s passion for art into her own. Her work is a testament to her sensitivity and empathy for her subjects.
