Dagmar Galleithner–Steiner
Dagmar Galleithner-Steiner is a German born artist specializing in horse and dog portraits, and abstract expressionism. She moved to the United States in 2013 and found artistic success with her realistic portraits of dogs and horses. She was commissioned to paint the official portraits of six Del Mar Thoroughbred Club’s Pacific Classic winners.
Galleithner-Steiner finds herself pivoting back to an artistic style she loved in her youth — The Blue Rider movement. She is moved by the transformative power of color and abstract form. She is experimenting within this construct doing landscapes, some of which relate to her ties with the Thoroughbred racing industry, as exemplified by her paintings of Spendthrift Farm and Keeneland.
