Andrea Stanley
Andrea Stanley’s paintings are a reflection of her fascination with light and color, which stems from years of affection for and study of impressionist and post-impressionist artists of Europe, as well as turn-of-the-century artists of California. She admires artists as diverse as Ingres, Van Gogh, and Sorolla. Her works include landscapes, still life, figurative, and western subjects in oil, charcoal, and pencil.
Stanley is a graduate of the UCLA School of Design and former post-graduate student of the San Francisco Academy of Art. Although she has done extensive commercial work, her first love has always been fine art. Her artwork has won numerous awards in juried shows and exhibits by international, national, and local fine arts organizations; and is represented in both municipal and private collections throughout the United States.
Stanley is a Signature Member of Women Artists of the West and the National Oil and Acrylic Painters' Society; and an Associate Member of the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. She also has been past-President of the Thousand Oaks Art Association.
